Official OFAC · EU · UK lists as of 2026-09-21 (UTC) · GLEIF ownership up to 2 hops. A country is optional, and it helps: a single-word name without one rarely resolves to the company you mean.

How it works

  1. Name or LEI

    GLEIF resolves what you typed to one legal entity — or says it cannot.

  2. Ownership

    Direct parent, ultimate parent and subsidiaries — at most 2 hops, at most 25 companies.

  3. Screened

    Every company in that tree, against OFAC, EU and UK — by name, country and LEI.

  4. One verdict

    A number, the reason, the chain it came down — and a link you can send somebody.

The five answers

There is deliberately no clear. Three lists and GLEIF ownership is never proof that a company is clean, and a tool that implies otherwise is worse than none.

  • Listed

    This company itself appears on one of the sanctions lists we hold.

  • Ownership proximity

    This company is not listed, but a parent, owner or subsidiary within two ownership hops is.

  • No match found

    Nothing in this company or its GLEIF ownership matched the lists we hold. That is not the same as being clean.

  • Which company did you mean?

    The name fits several companies in GLEIF, so nothing was screened yet. Pick the one you meant.

  • Not in GLEIF — name-only screening

    GLEIF knows no company by this name, so only the name itself was screened — with no ownership at all. The weakest answer this tool gives.

What this is not

It screens three official lists and GLEIF ownership at 50% and above. It does not know about politically exposed persons, individuals, informal control, or national lists beyond OFAC, the EU and the UK — and a company with no LEI can only be screened by its name. The coverage page says exactly what is in and what is out.
